Working in close collaboration with over 700 independent educators, doctors, scientists, researchers and other professionals in more than 500 training locations, clinics, schools and hospitals, Dr. Ken Gibson developed proven brain training programs that have successfully helped over 15,000 students greatly improve their cognitive skills and overcome reading and learning difficulties. BrainSkills is in the final stages of developing a cost effective internet-based program for use in schools.
Initially the program will be available to approved urban schools and after-school programs serving disadvantaged children in late 2007 with reading specific exercises following in 2008.
There are eight different online cognitive skill exercises. Each exercise has multiple levels and addresses the following cognitive skills: attention, processing speed, working and long term memory, visualization, and logic and reasoning. The program requires one school period per day over a semester to complete.
Below is a link to a demo of three of the exercises which only shows a few levels to give you a feel for how the online exercises work. The full exercises entail a much greater diversity of challenges. Please note that a student would start at a level where they can succeed and progressively build their skills until they can handle the harder levels. The exercises are fun and challenging and will build significantly stronger cognitive skills that result is easier and faster learning.
